Site-specific audio installation, in "at least five" locations around Governors Island
-
And I Will Catch You If You Fall is a multi-site audio installation, telling a fragmentary story that ambiguously describes the end of a relationship or the fall of a republic. Dispersed around Governors Island in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations, each installation site presents a different narrator's perspective on the events leading to an uncertain collapse. The story, which relates to the difficulties and polarization of our contemporary political moment, touches on loss and the unknowability of history in a way that resonates with the historic and abandoned sites around the island. The project is installed in "at least five" locations, making its scope unknowable, and encouraging greater exploration of the island and a keener awareness of one's surroundings.
